HGV class 1 driver jobs in North Yorkshire

Articulated work belongs to the freight transport by road industry. The 2024 Business Register and Employment Survey counted 3,000 employee jobs in it across North Yorkshire, 1.06% of the 282,000 employee jobs the survey records in the area.

The middle across Yorkshire and The Humber is 13%, so North Yorkshire sits below it, 15th of 15 areas on this measure. That is the shape most artic drivers would expect: full-time work with part-time hours around the edges.

Two further counts round out the North Yorkshire picture: 190 employee jobs in postal and courier activities, and 5,690 employee jobs across freight, warehousing and courier work.

Measured on employee jobs in freight transport by road, North Yorkshire ranks 1st of the 15 areas in Yorkshire and The Humber. The middle across Yorkshire and The Humber is 1,250, against 3,000 in North Yorkshire. Across the 153 areas in England the middle is 900. Next to North Yorkshire in that order sit Doncaster at 2,500.

On the separate business register count of freight transport by road workplaces, North Yorkshire ranks 3rd of the 15 areas in Yorkshire and The Humber. The middle across Yorkshire and The Humber is 295, against 395 in North Yorkshire. Across the 153 areas in England the middle is 200. Next to North Yorkshire in that order sit Leeds at 510 and North Lincolnshire at 355.

None of this counts adverts. It counts 3,000 jobs and 395 workplaces that already exist in North Yorkshire, which is a different thing from what is open to apply for today.
